Why Munky?

Mark+Punky = Munky. Moreover, we were both fond of monkeys when we were kids.

How did you guys meet?

We met through our common friend, Pat Ayson, in 2004, at a photo exhibit in Malate. Punky almost didn’t go.

Is it true that you’ve been engaged for more than 2 years? Why is it taking so long?

We got engaged in January 2009 but we wanted to save money before getting married, although we would be lying if we said that there’s a big difference between that year and now. Apart from that, due to our cultural belief in sukob, we cannot marry in the same year as Mark’s brother.

We are flying in for the wedding. Can you recommend a good place to stay?

How’s the weather like in December?

It’s cool but not as cool as in January. It is also unpredictable, as it has been in the past couple of years. Last December 18, 2010, rain fell on the beach wedding of Maggie Wilson and Victor Consunji, but that’s beside the point. The point is, it would help to bring an umbrella to help you get to the entrance of C3 from your parking slot or vehicle.

Should I eat before the wedding?

In a word, yes, because it will begin after the lunch hour. Although, we personally love that anticipatory feeling of a lechon carving station awaiting you after having to sit through the usually long post-wedding photo-op.

I’m already spending a lot on formal outfits for other December weddings. I don’t want to put out another cent for yours!

Unless you’re a dude, it shouldn’t be a problem because they can get away with a standard barong or suit every time. But for the girls, whoever said you had to spend for every occasion you go to? Here are some tips (ooh, I get so excited just giving fashion tips!):

Pull a Carolina Herrera. She can rock a crisp white shirt (yes the same shirt you would wear to work) paired with a long black skirt; or try a shorter A-line shirt which you can use again. Sharon Stone even went as far as to borrow a shirt from her husband’s closet to wear to the Oscars!

Buy an inexpensive little black (or little white) dress. You can accessorize it with costume jewelry, fabulous heels and an inexpensive clutch in a bright color. Check out our poster girl for LBDs, Jennifer Aniston (below left) Then, you can wear it again to work by pairing with a tailored blazer or rock it a la Blair Waldorf (below right) with colored tights.

Buy an Infinity Dress. You can get away with wearing this at several events! There are several local Multiply shops that sell infinity dresses ranging from P1,500 – P3,000.

Maid of honor, Cha, recommends the infinitud dress at shopeden.multiply.com. Although intended as maternity wear, it’s actually versatile and we’ve seen her don it as a sweater during day and as a form-fitting shift dress at night!

Can I wear black?

Go ahead. Just don’t try to beat Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to it.
